MARK AND TARSH ALLEN AND FAMILY

Kariboe Valley is very happy to introduce our new home bred polled sire Kariboe Valley Nobleman 812

Kariboe Valley was established in 1998 and is owned and operated by Mark & Tarsh Allen and their four young children, sons, Mac and Will and daughters, Darcie and Bailey. From 1985 to 1998 prior to establishing the stud, Mark and his father ran a high quality purebred red Brahman commercial herd near Miriam Vale.

Kariboe Valley is situated 32km south of Biloela in the Thangool district just off the Burnett Highway, two hours southwest of Rockhampton, the Beef Capital of Australia.

The stud operates over 2 properties with a breeder block in the Mt Perry/Gin Gin region.

With a stud herd of approximately 150 females, plus a small commercial herd of purebred red Brahmans, there is a strong emphasis on females to be fertile and have sound udders and good temperament.

Sires that have been purchased over the years include the foundation sires Bungoona Red Ramble-eer in ’97 and Kandoona Republican in ’98. More recent purchases of Palmvale Warwick (dec) in’04 for $26,000, the outstanding polled sire Samari Plains Wexford (P) in ’07 for $75,000 and Somerview Navarone (P) ’08 for $16,000 have all had a strong influence on the herd.

Bulls are sold annually through the Rockhampton Brahman Week sale and the Charters Towers Gold City sale where the stud has experienced great success over the past few years selling the equal top priced red bull for Brahman week ‘05 with Kariboe Valley Elton $45,000 selling to the Fern Hills and Rockley studs, with Elton’s progeny now in demand. Brahman Week ’07 six bulls averaged $13,850 and Brahman Week ‘08 Kariboe Valley Impact sold for $30,000 to the Billabong Stud, Kariboe Valley Impulse was sold for $18,000 to the Samari Plains stud. Paddock bulls are sold to Northern Australia on a regular basis.

A limited number of females are sold through the annual Fassifern Valley Elite female sale and privately.

We are always striving to improve our herd through the use of AI and more recently IVF to ensure rapid genetic gain through our elite females.

Mark & Tarsh welcome visitors to Kariboe Valley and would love to show you around the stud herd at any time.
